Root cause
The settings define authClientId. The login code asks for clientId. That key is missing, which matches the reported error.

config.json:2{ "authClientId": "demo-app" }login.js:7–8const clientId = settings.clientId;
if (!clientId) throw new Error("Missing client ID");login errorError: Missing client ID
Where the value disappears
The current configuration provides authClientId. The old key, clientId, was removed.

+ "authClientId": "demo-app"Login still asks for settings.clientId. It has not followed the rename.
Sources
login.js:7–8const clientId = settings.clientId;
if (!clientId) throw new Error("Missing client ID");The requested key is absent from the configuration. The settings and login reader disagree.
Sources
config.json:2{ "authClientId": "demo-app" }login.js:7–8const clientId = settings.clientId;
if (!clientId) throw new Error("Missing client ID");This missing value fits the reported login error. The report identifies the mismatch; it does not claim login has recovered.
